Chipmunks and Country...probably the best thing ever.

Drink in My Hand - Eric Church via the Chipmunks ;)

I was formatting a blog for a while, and as I was getting frustrated, I decided I needed some music for the process.  I'm pretty pumped that I came across this little gem:

Jason Aldean - New Lyric Video - Dirt Road Anthem

A different way to approach a lyric video.  I kinda like it.  What do you think?

You & Tequila Make Me Crazy

I was at the Kenny Chesney concert in Toronto and fell in love with this song when Grace Potter came onto the stage to sing it with Kenny. Afterwards, she non-chalantly came out to the audience and just happened to sit right in front of me to watch the rest of the concert. I couldn't help but bug her for a photo. What a sweet gorgeous lady.

Country Wedding Songs

My good friend, MK Phelps is getting married in a few weeks and she asked me to pick some country songs for her wedding.  So, I hand picked these country songs just for her!  Enjoy.

Slow Country Songs

All Your Life - The Band Perry
Although they're up and comers, this beautiful song deserves to make the list with "I just wanna be the only girl you love all your life".

Mama's Song - Carrie Underwood
"He is good, so good.  He treats your little girl like a real man should.  He is good, so good.  He makes promises he keeps, no he's never gonna leave. So, don't you worry about me."

God Blessed the Broken Road - Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood.
"Every long lost dream led me to where you are, others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars pointing me on my way into your loving arms.  This must I know is true, that God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you."

"I melt, every time you look at me that way."

"From this moment, life has begun.  Front this moment, you are the one.  Right beside you is where I belong, from this moment on."

Waitin' on a Woman - Brad Paisley
"The wedding took a year to plan.  Talk about an anxious man, I was nervous waiting on a woman.  He nudged my arm like old men do, I'll say this about the honey moon, it was worth it waiting on a woman."

That's What I Love About Sunday
"Sally and Rob finally tied the knot.  Well it's about time."

Thank You - Keith Urban
"I thank you for my heart, I thank you for my life, and I thank god for grace and mercy and that you became my wife. I'm seeing for the first time, the stars, the sun, and moon.  They've got nothing on the power of this love I have for you and I thank you, I thank you."

Making Memories of Us - Keith Urban
"I'm gonna be here for ya baby."

My Wish - Rascal Flatts
"My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to, your dreams stay big and worries stay small.."

Cool Thing - Rascal Flatts
"She didn't come here looking for love, and the cool thing was, neither did I."

We Danced - Brad Paisley
"I'll only marry you on one condition, we dance."

Little Moments Like That - Brad Paisley
"Yeah I live for little moments, like that."

Strawberry Wine - Deanna Carter
"One restless summer we found love growing wild."

Whatever it is - Zac Brown Band
"When she walks in the room I can hardly breathe."

The Band Perry - You Lie

The other day, I was on the phone with my mother telling her that I'm heading to a $20 concert in Niagara Falls in March...

"Who are y'all seein'?" She asked in her southern Tennessee accent.
"The Band Perry," I replied
"Hmm never heard of them," she unenthusiastically remarked.
I attempted to sing, "really? If I die young...".
"Oh my goodness, they're huge!  How'd you get such cheap tickets?" she asked.

Her voice gets a lil high pitched when she's excited so I had to move the phone further away from my decibel blaring soon-to-be broken eardrums.

A couple months ago, I posted their song "If I Die Young" with one small line saying, "The next Lady Antebellum, I think so".  Today, in Toronto, I heard another one of their hit single's, "You Lie".  This family band is destined for super-stardom and the only reason I got tickets for $20 was because that concert was booked back when practically nobody knew them.  Not so much the case now.  It's amazing how quickly a band can make a name for themselves.  Now, I have no idea how long they've been playing together or working for this success, all I can say is kudos to them!  They're opening up for the best this fall...Keith Urban.  The best concert I've ever been to in my life was put on by Keith Urban...and guess who opened for him that time?  Lady A.  Just sayin' and reinforcing "the next Lady Antebellum, I think so" statement.  Feel free to call my bluff in 2012 but I don't think that's gonna happen.

If you haven't checked them out yet, give "You Lie" a listen and tell me what ya think!

"Daddy rocked us to sleep with the Rolling Stones; Mama woke us up with Loretta Lynn. So we get it honest." - Kimberly Perry

PUT YOU IN A SONG

Dear Keith (just the guy that wishes he could be my man one day),
I thought long and hard about granting you permission regarding such a huge request.  My secretary and lawyer both advised me against it, however, I'm going ahead with it.
May this letter act as permission to put me in a song. Go to town with it.
Kind Regards,
Georgia (the girl in that song)

Rascal Flatts kill 'em by the dozens

Don't take life too seriously.

Casey from CMT embarks upon the true feelings within Rascal Flatt's tear jerker videos.  In response, Gary lightens the mood shifting to their track record of death in Here Comes Goodbye where you get "two for the price of one in the death count".  Way to not be serious even for a second Gary.  On that note, I like his style.  What can I say, they like a good death count.

Video: You can find the video of this convo with RFlatts and Casey at cmt.ca on the right hand side under videos, along with many more...

Ever tried winning concert tickets like this?

Back on October 22, 2006,  I sent this email into our local country radio station: (now deceased station, I might add) Country 95.3.  I was trying to win Rascal Flatts tickets.  This time around, I didn't win.  Looking back on this email, I'm not shocked.  Too much cheese.  My roommate loves cheese...but not this kind.
Enjoy!

I love Rascal Flatts to PIECES!  YES I DO!!!  Gary LeVox is super cute and HE AINT THE LEAVIN' KIND!  I'd love to STAND near him and sing along as he sings TO MAKE HER LOVE ME and ELLESWORTH.  The COOL THING is that Rascal Flatts is my favourite country group.  Don't get it BACKWARDS because I am a huge fan!  Rascal Flatts had a concert in Buffalo last year but WHAT HURTS THE MOST is that we had skating that night so I couldn't go!  I'm on the National Team for Synchronized Skating and ME & MY GANG practice many times a week leaving not much time for anything other than school.  I FEEL BAD that concerts and other social events are often missed.  We don't skate that Wednesday and it's MY WISH to go to see Rascal Flatts on November 1st at the Air Canada Centre!  There are many WORDS I COULDN'T SAY regarding how badly I want to see the best country group!!!

Incase you didn't notice...all the songs from their most recent album are highlighted...I would use all the songs from their past album but it FEELS LIKE TODAY, the day that I have two mid-terms gettin' under my SKIN, and skating practice...so I'll BREAK AWAY and leave the HOLES for another day.  Perhaps THE DAY BEFORE YOU?  HERE'S TO YOU, Country 95.3, my favourite radio station.  I've never won anything on the radio before, THEN I DID?  That's me hoping that you'll BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD...WHEN THE SAND RUNS OUT so that maybe I could possibly get to hear the songs WHERE YOU ARE and OKLAHOMA-TEXAS LINE!!!!

I couldn't help it, there's all the songs from their "feels like today" album!  I've got RASCAL FLATTS and all their songs on the brain 'cause clearly I'm their biggest fan!!!  It's MY WISH to go to their concert!!!

THANKS for reading my email about the best group on earth!!!

Sincerely,

Georgia Sapounas
